Coach Murphy will be involved in all aspects of the West Coast Elite Under Armour Nor Cal Girl's program and will help build West Coast Elite Under Armour Girl's program.  West Coast Elite Under Armour NorCal Girls will operate six girls teams in its first year under the direction of co-directors Marnie Carter and Nadine Walker.

West Coast Elite UA president Ryan Silver on Coach Melanie Murphy: "Coach Murphy is a fantastic young coach and role model. With her Stanford pedigree, commitment to growing girl's basketball, and her unbelievable background in developing young ladies, we are incredibly proud and honored to have her be a part of the West Coast Elite Under Armour Girls Basketball Family.  She is a spectacular young Coach."

West Coast Elite UA Director of Girls Basketball Sullivan Carter: "Coach Murphy's impact on women's basketball is outstanding and she continues to be an amazing ambassador of the game. Torch Basketball Academy and West Coast Elite UA share the same vision of helping young women use basketball as a vehicle to better their lives. Together we will be able to bring greater exposure to the women's game in Northern California and we are beyond excited to have Coach Murphy join the West Coast Elite Family."

Coach Melanie Murphy on West Coast Elite: "Never have I seen the type of support that Under Armour and Steph Curry is willing to provide to our girls. I strongly believe this partnership will benefit not only WCE and Torch, but women's basketball as a whole. I am truly convinced that WCE is truly invested in bringing equal opportunities to the girls game and I am extremely excited to bring these opportunities to the Silicon Valley and beyond."
