West Coast Elite Under Amour’s Center Ezekial Richards has committed to Coach Herb Sendek and the Santa Clara Broncos. The 6 foot-11, 230-pound post out of Oak Park High School bring his combination of good size, athleticism and soft touch around the rim to the West Coast Conference where he is expected to make an immediate impact. Richards played over the Spring and Summer on the West Coast Elite 17U UAA team on the Under Armour circuit.

Ezekiel Richards on his commitment to Santa Clara, “The reason I chose Santa Clara was because of the great coaching staff and they have always been there since day one, they have seen my good games and bad and can still see my potential that gives me confidence. I am excited to play with great players on a beautiful campus. I like how they are still building a new program and I can be a part of that.”

West Coast Elite 17U UAA Coach George Zedan on Richards commitment, “I am so proud of Zeke and the progress he has made. Zeke is a tremendous athlete with amazing upside. Santa Clara is getting a high character young man that will work to get better. It will not surprise me to see Zeke rise to an all WCC type player.”

West Coast Elite UAA Assistant Director Justin Downer on Richards, “I am so happy for Zeke being able to commit to a school that fits him so well. I think Coach Sendek, Ludwig, and staff will do a great job helping Zeke develop into a serious problem in the WCC. Zeke is a team first player who just wants to get better. I am very proud of Zeke and all his hard work. It is not easy to start your basketball career in high school, and immediately getting thrown into the highest level. Very excited to watch Zeke turn into a great player and teammate at Santa Clara!”

West Coast Elite UA President Ryan Silver on Richards commitment,” We are so proud of Zeke in his commitment to Santa Clara. Coach Sendek, Ludwig, and staff have done an amazing job. Zeke has the ability to be great in the WCC and I believe he will rise to an All- WCC player. We will continue to work to make kids and families dreams come true.”

Richards currently is playing in the CIF Southern Section Playoffs with Oak Park High School.

More announcements are expected out of the Los Angeles based program.
