The Oak Park Eagles are poised for another CIF championship run this season headlined by West Coast Elite Under Armour players Wes Slajchert, Ezekial Richards, Riley Battin, and Clark Slajchert. Oak Park had a strong 2016-2017 season but eventually fell to Corona Roosevelt in the CIF-SS playoffs. Oak Park will be a strong favorite to win the Coastal Canyon League but will face competition from Royal, Camarillo, Simi Valley, and Moorpark. Head Coach Aaron Shaw has built the Oak Park program into a powerhouse since his arrival with a continued influx of talent. The Big 4 has their eyes on the post season with a CIF-SS championship at the top of their list

Dartmouth commit 2018 G Wes Slajchert on Oak Park this season, “This is by far the most talented team we’ve ever had at Oak Park, but with the talent comes big goals that we`re looking to achieve. With the back court of Clark and I, along with Riley and Zeke in the paint, we think we can compete to win the Open Division and win a State Championship.”

2020 G Clark Slajchert on the upcoming season,” Biggest expectation this year is to win a state championship of course, but overall just really looking forward to getting better every day and playing at as high of a level as possible. Main goal is to have fun this year and winning is the only way I can do that so that’s what we plan on doing this year.”

2018 F Riley Battin on Oak Parks season, his recruitment, and quest to break the Ventura County scoring record,” I think we are going to have a very good season and have a solid shot at opening a lot of eyes. I’m looking to decide before the season starts. Breaking the scoring record will be nice but all I am focused on this year is winning a state championship.”

Oak Park will take the floor in the Coastal Canyon League against Camarillo on January 19, 2018.
